The story The year is 1995, the legendary solider 'Big Boss' set up a fortress nation called 'Outer Heaven' in the heart of south Africa. America and it weston allys discover that it has weapons of mass destruction. So 'Big Boss' commander and chief of the special unit called FOX-HOUND sends in Grey Fox to investigate (2nd in command). Grey Fox loses contact and feared dead so Big Boss sends in Solid Snake the rookie in to find out what happened. Snake infiltrates 'Outer Heaven' and rescues Grey Fox. Grey Fox tells snake about Metal Gear being a walking battle tank. With Metal Gear in production 'Outer Heaven' could be the most powerful nation in the world. Snake and his team of freedom fighters devise away to stop this military might. A devised set of traps wounds snake spirits in finding Metal Gear to destroy it but in the 100th floor of the complex he finds Metal Gear and destroys it. After defeating Metal Gear Snake is confronted by Big Boss. Big boss tells snake how he has been double crossing the west and he was the leader of 'Outer Heaven'. A battle insues and Snake is the Victor.
